Located inside a building that was originally constructed in 1852 to serve as the Robert Mitchell Mercantile, is the Point Pleasant River Museum. At the museum, visitors can learn about commercial shipping and fishing on the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers.
The four-acre Tu-Endie-Wei State Park was established as a memorial to the war that occurred on this site in 1774, and contains an 84-foot granite obelisk, along with smaller memorial tablets. The park also contains the 1794 hewn log house, one of the oldest in the Kanawha Valley.
