Stowe Mountain Resort Cross-Country Touring Center offers almost 28 miles of groomed cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, and 19 miles of backcountry terrain. They also offer a concession stand and shop to buy equipment and supplies.
Almost entirely forested, Wiessner Woods is a public access park that has several trails running through it for hiking, nature viewing, bird watching, and wildlife viewing. Black bears do live in the area though so the public is advised to use caution.
The Smugglers' Notch Distillery is situated at the foot of infamous Smugglers' Notch where many bootleggers used to run alcohol through the Vermont mountain pass. The distillery was founded in 2006 and upholds the area tradition of making spirits one small batch at a time.
