Acquired as a wildlife and nature preserve in 1916, Deer Grove Forest Preserve spans 1800 acres. The preserve is of interest to students of wildlife and nature as well as to those who just want to jog or picnic.

Moehling Park is a botanical area. The park has flowers, carved tree art and hand painted sculptures. There are also educational placards and a brick walkway.Moehling Park provides benches in the shade.
