An indoor and outdoor tennis facility, the Crystal Lake Racket Club features nine indoor tennis courts, an indoor practice lane, clay and standard outdoor courts, a fully stocked pro shop, and lessons or players of all levels.

Designed after an old mining town theme, Mountain View Mine Miniature Golf is a local 18-hole miniature golf course open to the public. The course is filled with obstacles and is lined with scenic waterfalls, creeks, and bridges.

The Big Surf Wave Pool is a wave pool that features deck chairs, umbrellas, and 3-foot waves. The pool changes wave cycles every 10 minutes and also has a snack shack that serves hot dogs and pizza.

Home to a variety of small local suburban theatre troupes, the Prairie Lakes Community Theatre provides entertainment to Des Plaines locals. The theatre presents a selection of popular stage plays and musicals.

Lions Recreation Center hosts a variety of fitness and youth programs in its 23,000 square foot facility. It has a stage, dance studio, gymnasium, and meeting rooms available for community use.

Acquired as a wildlife and nature preserve in 1916, Deer Grove Forest Preserve spans 1800 acres. The preserve is of interest to students of wildlife and nature as well as to those who just want to jog or picnic.
