Tonto Natural Bridge State Park has what is believed to be the largest travertine bridge in the world, with a height of 183 feet, length of 400 feet and width of 150 feet. Trails lead on the top of the bridge. There are also some picnic areas.
Both an indoor and open air museum, the Rim Country Museum boasts of replicated 19th century old buildings built from its original foundations while the Haught cabin was relocated to the area, plank by plank. Exhibits inside the museum include blacksmith's shop and a pioneer kitchen.
While the main interest may be learning about fish and their habitat, Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery is also a good place for bird watching. The species raised here are the apache, the rainbow and the brown trout. Fishing is prohibited inside the hatchery, but the visitor can be guided upriver.
