The gleaming white façade of the Robert Toombs House State Historic Site has come to symbolize the affluent secessionist movement that gripped Georgia during the Civil War. Toombs, a career public servant, became one of the nation's most outspoken secessionists. The museum and its beautiful grounds are open for tours.
