There are more than 222,000 plants in the Morton Arboretum, representing almost 4,300 species. They are all from the northern-temperate zone of the world, gathered from 40 different countries. 90 of these species are on the endangered species list.

A full scale ice rink, the Downer's Grove Ice Arena offers open skating hours, lessons in figure skating and basic ice skating, and a hockey program with a variety of leagues.

At Rathje Park, visitors can play sports on one of its fields, bring their children to the playground, or go fishing in the pond. During the winter season, the pond freezes over so visitors can ice skate on it.

Geppetto's Skate Shop in Downers Grove caters to ice skaters searching for hard to find skates and equipment. The specialty shop outfits leading professional skaters as well as locals and visitors looking for quality gear.

As a performing arts venue, Fox Valley Repertory offers productions ranging from romantic comedies to a live music series. The theater also has productions for younger audiences with age-appropriate topics.
