Filled with interactive displays, Bartlett Nature Center offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the native plant and animal life in the region. The center has reptiles, insects, stuffed animals, bones, and informative posters on display.

A 3,400-acre preserve, the James 'Pate' Philip State Park aims to preserve and protect its diverse Illinois ecosystem. The park is a mixture of prairie, marshes and forest and features a visitor center with educational exhibits.
