The Elgin History Museum, located in Elgin, Illinois, is situated in an 1856 building, which formerly was part of the Elgin Academy. The musem, which displays exhibits of Elgin's cultural history, is listed on the National Register of Historicl Places.

Surrounded by 40 forested acres, Red Oak Nature Center and features seven hiking trails that are open until sunset. Inside the free center visitors can enjoy multiple classrooms and a wildlife viewing room with turtle and fish habitats.
