Mt. Charleston Scenic Byway

The Mt. Charleston Scenic Byway starts at a 3,200-foot desert floor scrub then goes up to an 8,500 elevation with towering mountain pines. Skiing and snowboarding are popular at the summit during the winter while summer visitors can escape the intense heat of the valley to the cooler mountain temperatures.
