Bald Head Island Lighthouse

The light first shone from Bald Head lighthouse on December 23, 1794, making it the first lighthouse in North Carolina. It was used until 1935 when the lighthouse at Cape Fear was completed, and now visitors can climb the 112 stairs to the top.
